At the EmpowaWomen Summit, one theme kept coming up again and again: Imposter Syndrome.
Brilliant, capable, talented women – CEOs, entrepreneurs, leaders – spoke about how this inner doubt was holding them back from stepping fully into their power. And it struck me: if so many incredible women feel this way, it’s not a reflection of their ability. It’s a reflection of the narratives we’ve been fed.
But here’s the truth. We cannot keep normalizing imposter syndrome. Women don’t need to apologize for being in the room. We don’t need to prove and re-prove that we belong. Women’s Month may be over, but the message must live on: it’s time to normalize confidence and power. Not doubt.
Why Imposter Syndrome Creeps In:
- We’re told to play small, to not be “too much.”
- We set impossible standards for ourselves.
- We internalize the idea that belonging has to be earned twice over.
But these are outdated scripts. And it’s time to flip the page.
The Mindset Reset: Be B.O.L.D.
Here’s the framework I share with women who want to rise above imposter syndrome and claim their space:
B – Believe your wins
Celebrate your achievements, no matter how small. Your track record is the evidence that you deserve your place.
O – Own your uniqueness
What sets you apart is your advantage. Your voice, your perspective, your story—it’s your power.
L – Let go of perfection
Perfection is a myth. Progress is what drives impact. Step forward even when it’s not flawless.
D – Do it anyway
Action creates confidence. The boldest women aren’t fearless—they’re the ones who move forward despite the doubt.
Time to Be B.O.L.D.
At the summit, it was clear: imposter syndrome is holding too many women back from unleashing their brilliance. But here’s the message we need to spread far and wide:
You already belong. You are already enough. The world doesn’t need a quieter, smaller version of you. It needs you, bold and unfiltered.
Women’s Month is behind us, yet the work continues. Because confidence, not imposter syndrome, should define our narrative.
Believe. Own. Let go. Do. Be B.O.L.D.
Because the future doesn’t belong to those who question if they’re ready. It belongs to those who step boldly into their power.
